Confined to a sterile hospital room because he was born with no immune system, young Tommy makes the best of things, even though he is not able to touch or see most of the things everyone else takes for granted. He has a friend his own age who understands haw painful this is for him. In this sad and touching story, Tommy struggles to experience life freely for the first time, even at the cost of his life, and also seeks to abring his parents together again.
