It is the story of a woman who has a man condemned to a life sentence in prison and then marries him there. In their relationship established in this way, the woman undergoes an unexpected trans-formation, carrying the story to a surprising conclusion. It is a play in the Italian style, amusing, and yet with grotesque and bitter touches, and it faces up to the difficult problem of the sexual life of people in prison.
